I think it was sick of the woman in the passenger seat’s constant nagging. TURN RIGHT, TURN LEFT, SLOW DOWN, WHY ARE YOU GOING SO SLOW, GOD I HATE YOU GERALD.

You try driving a left-hand-drive car in a right-hand-drive country

According to the developer, the car relies on GPS for its navigation, and isn’t actually using what the sensors see of the road ahead to navigate.
That seems like a very bad idea from multiple practical and safety standpoints.

First thing I thought of when I saw that GIF is how my ‘
66 has the same side brake light that doesn’t work half the time.

I’m surprised this idea made it past first blush...

I wouldn’t have even let it in the event. That is a terrible idea.

Maybe it’s okay for a first blush, but that’s not something I’d take into public for the world to scrutinize.

The only thing I can think is it’s an incomplete proof of concept that would add in camera info later? Still, why would you take something that crude to an event like this to get such a bad result for all the world to see?

Can’t expect much from a company that thinks “siemen
s” is a good name to slap on your car. None of this is helped by the fact that NIO brought the EP9, a car that did high-speed autonomy WAY better.
